A very fine antique Ashanti
(Asante ) Kingo Stool from Ashantiland (modern day Southern Ghana)
This stool is carved from a single block of wood with a crescent shaped seat, four legs and a central pierce work carved pillar.
Kingo stools are indications of status and power. An Akan man would carve or commission his personal stool and keep it for a lifetime.
Very Good Condition. wear commensurate with age.
Measures: 18 x 9 x 12" tall.
